Okay, if you've been keeping up with me on Twitter (not that I'm all that fast on Twitter, mind you. I tweet with the speed of a giant turtle stuck upside down in molasses) you probably came across my tweets for #Pit2Pub.
To be honest, I didn't think I'd be able to participate. I found out about #Pit2Pub about 10 minutes before it started. But I jumped right in anyway and I went for it.
I developed 4 130-character tweets to use as my pitches. And one by one I sent them and waited.
And I got a couple bites! Two publishers favorited my tweets, signifying they wanted to read more. So just like that, the time became “Now or Never”.
I went with Now.
I put together my submissions for both companies, along with 4 other companies I had already been researching and looking into. Now it's just time for the email game. You know the one I mean. That game where you wait and incessantly refresh your email inbox until the words “Refresh Inbox” looks wrong. Yep, that game.
